Let’s be honest, most of us aren’t morning people, let alone morning people who can muster the strength to workout more than once a week before 9am.
But, working out in the mornings is proven to be more effective, as it kick starts your metabolism and keeps you energised for the rest of the day.
So here are our top tips to help you roll out of bed and straight into the Studio.
1. Get a good night's sleep
It may be obvious but we mustn't underestimate the importance of getting a good night's sleep before working out the next morning. Sleeping for the recommended eight hours will help you feel energised and raring to go.
2. Walk to the Studio
There’s nothing like a bit of fresh air and a brisk walk to wake you up and, if you walk fast enough, you’ll be nice and warm for your Barrecore class.
3. Pack your kit the night before
If your bag is all packed you don’t have to worry about allowing extra prep time. Plus, if you pack well you’re immediately eliminating excuses such as ‘I forgot to pack my grippy socks’.
4. Let there be light
As soon as you wake up, put your bedside lamp on or open the curtains. It’s far harder to fall back to sleep if your bedroom is full of light.
5. Visualise the end goal
After class you're going to feel a serious sense of achievement and we all know that exercise releases endorphins so you’ll feel happier too.
6. Find a barre buddy
It's added motivation not to skip class because you’ll feel bad if you let them down and also working out becomes more fun and sociable.
7. Put some music on in the morning
Blasting out your favourite tunes whilst you get ready in the morning will get you in the mood for working out.
8. Make your breakfast exciting
If you’re looking forward to your breakfast, it’ll make getting out of bed that bit easier.
9. Reward yourself
Set a goal and if you manage to meet it then reward yourself perhaps with some new gym gear or a yummy brunch.
10. Remember, consistency is key
Even if you’re not in the mood, get up and go, you’ll feel better for it and the more morning workouts you complete, the more it will become more of a habit and less of a chore.
We hope these have have inspired you to set your alarm and make the most of your mornings. We look forward to seeing you bright and early in one of our London barre studios. Take a look at our timetable and book now.
