5 Tips on Starting and Maintaining Weekday Workouts

09 April 2021

At the end of a long day in the office or running around after the kids, the idea of ordering a takeout, opening a bottle of wine and settling down in front of Netflix can be far more tempting than heading to the Studio to workout.

So, how can you find time and motivation in your busy weekly schedule to get your Barrecore fix? We’ve got some top tips so you can build your feel good workout fixes into your week.

Book in advance

Book your classes for the whole week on Sunday night, that way you’ll feel that you’ve already committed and will have to go. If it’s pre-booked you’ll start scheduling your day around your workout as opposed to your workout around your day.

Prepare yourself

If you’re going to workout before work and need a shower, pack your wash stuff the night before so you can’t use ‘I forgot my make up bag’ as an excuse. Going to Studio after work? Make sure you’ve got your grippy socks packed in amongst your work stuff and if you know you're going to get in late from the class, plan a quick and easy meal to make when you get in.

Get a workout buddy or even a workout squad

If you’re working out with friends you won’t want to let them down, nor will you want to be the person that bails. Also, there will be healthy competition to keep you motivated and you can encourage one another when you need it most.

Know what you’re good at

If you’re more of a night owl as opposed to a morning lark then don’t attempt to get up at the crack of dawn to work out. If scheduling a class for 6.00 am means you’re going to miss it because you’ve overslept then schedule it for 6.00pm to avoid disappointment

Keep it interesting

Vary your workouts, they should be fun and something you look forward to, not something you dread.

So get online and get booking your weekday workouts, write them in your diary, pack your bag and figure out what works for you.
