Why Malta? Find out more about the highlights in our retreat itinerary
The mythic Maltese Islands offer visitors breathtaking natural landscape, spectacular coastlines and beautiful towns steeped in 7,000 years of history, in which to live passionately in the present.
Malta’s capital city was last year’s European Capital of Culture. It’s the smallest capital in Europe, the sunniest city in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with over 365 historical sites. Explore some of the city’s highlights - including the famous St Johns Co-Cathedral - and enjoy lunch on the waterfront at Capo Crudo.
Surrounded by a valley, the red sand and clear water of Ramla Bay have won the beach a spot on The Telegraph’s top 100 beaches in the world.
Picnic by the Salt Pans
Enjoy a specially curated picnic dinner, overlooking the 350-year-old salt pans, which stretch 3km along the coast of Gozo.
Blue Lagoon & Gozo Coastline
The crystal clear waters of the Blue Lagoon, on the neighbouring island of Comino, have to be seen to be believed. We’ll be taking a private boat to the Lagoon for an early swim before the crowds arrive, followed by a coastal boat tour of Gozo for more swimming opportunities.
Dinner at Ta Philip
Philip’s delicious local cuisine and warm hospitality attract not only the most discerning tourists, but also celebrity visitors who leave their photos on his wall. The Duchess of Sussex even visited a few years ago while she was on the Island researching her Maltese ancestry.
Local wines are winning global awards, but aren’t exported as they’re produced in such small quantities; you have to visit the Islands to try them. This local estate will give you plenty of opportunities to try their wines and other delicacies created from their farm produce like sun dried tomato paste and pear balsamic vinegar.
The Ġgantija Temples are a megalithic temple complex from the Neolithic period and more than 5500 years old: older than the Egyptian pyramids. We’ll have exclusive access for a private tour followed by a class overlooking the Temples themselves.
Dinner at Ta Frenc
Gozo's award-winning fine dining restaurant set in an old farmhouse surrounded by beautiful country views of Xaghra, Zebbug & Marsalforn.
Dinner at the Citadel
The Citadel in Gozo’s capital city of Victoria had its foundations built in the Roman era. After a short tour, we’ll have exclusive access to the bastions of the castle for a special private dinner.
Optional sporting excursions
There is no shortage of fun activities to do during your stay, including kayaking, climbing and bocci. We can also arrange diving for those with PADI qualifications, as the Maltese archipelago is consistently voted the second best diving destination in the world.
